i'm an uncle...to a little boy named Callum (i think)...hes born prematurely though, only 7 mths, and is currently in hospital now and in my mom's words 'wif tubes all over him'

doesn't sound too good, but hopefully everything will be fine

long time no blog

I'm in the library on a saturday aftnoon....everyone can all go and buy 4D now......
wanted to wake up early jus now...set my alarm for 830, but ended up pressing the snooze button till 11...got up bathed and drove to subi market to get some breakfast....the bakery there has some amazing almond croissants, damn good i tell u, after driving ard for 15 mins, finally found parking, went there, and....no more almond croissants.....had to settle for the normal ones, which were still nice....

after that drove to sch, and here i am, about to embark on my quest to finish as much as possible

on another note, guess what.....fiona is back at burswood!!....woooo.....thot she quit or smth or found a proper jon but apparently not....

aniawe i realise....mahjong bores me now....dunno why, mebbe its the speed or the stakes, but i prefer poker..duh

last mon was moms bdae....sent flowers to her office but she was on leave...when she got back on tue, she called up far east flora to complain that the flowers were wilted...made a big fuss. wanted to talk to the manager all that till they relented and sent over another bunch.....my mom is hilarious........

its time to get medieval

jus had my medieval hist tut...i love the lecturer lar...think hes the most interesting one i've come across so far.....every tut he gives out topics for the students to go back and research, then come back next wk to jus give a short presentation.
His exact words on this were 'No more than an hours reading a week, I don't want to push you guys.'

How come u not love a guy like that.....my this wks topic was 'Welsh Castles' and i actually did go back and get some info on them...2 foolscap pages worth, but alas the tut din have time to get to me...i actually feel abit sad...like aiyah wasted

my next wks topic is 'The Deposition of Edward II'....have no idea wtf that is....but i'll go find out

jus had my 2nd tut for the 'Social History of Early Modern Europe' unit.....halfway thru i decided there and then that i just had to get myself out of it. Its no joke i tell u, i was totally and utterly lost even thou i did do some readings....the stuff that goes on in the unit is just too damn abstract for me...the tut today was on historical demography, how it tells us about marriages, birth control, features of the population, and this is based on research that focuses on like population data such as parish records so u'll see who and who died when who got baptised when who got married.....like wtf....its jus not for me lar....

soooo....in my desperation, i decided to switch to a somewhat Anthropological unit which can also count towards a History or European Studies Major.....unit is called Migration, Culture and Identity, which yah seems interesting i guess, went to talk to the unit coordinator and the women at the office to settle my tut timings and all....so see how it goes.....but for now i'm jus glad i got out of the damn other unit.....

I did an essay a few sems ago on Suharto's fall from power and overthrow, and one of the reasons was his supposed loss of the 'mandate from the Gods' or smth like that cos of the natural and man made disasters that were happening at the time, which was especially significant to the uber supertitious and religious Javanese

fuck sia i'm like sick...feel feverish, got a sore throat...i tell u its the damn weather.....freakin 42 degs tofay....and tmr too....and thurs gonna be a whole FOUR degrees lower at 38!...woooo....wtf rite....

had my long day today. tut at 10, 12, lect at 2, and tut at 5....woke up at 930 in a panic...and for those familiar to perth...when i got off the freeway driving along mounts bay towards uni, the traffic literally STOPPED cos of idiotic roadworks...stuck there and guess what...was late for class....was feelin sick already when i woke up, got progressively worse as it got hotter and finally decided to go back at 1 for a nap...woke up at 4 plus to go back to sch...nearly late again

the units i'm doin this sem are 2 history and 2 politics units...

- Social History of Early Modern Europe

I'm gonna struggle in this one...i have absolutely NO idea about the stuff goin on in bluddy early modern europe, much less the damn social hist of the place....had tut yesterday which i read (skimmed thru) one reading... i couldn't follow the damn tut at all...tutor also sucks...theres literally dead silence after someone finishes talking, and everyone looks down at the table wondering...uhhh yah u dumb idiot say something ur the damn tutor....after about 20 mins of trying to get us to talk, she finally asked each of us to state what readin we did and what we thought of it...and i was first...so i was staring at the course outline thinking oh SHIT......then i remembered skimming thru one reading and said oh the blah blah one...and the tutor is like uhm? where is it?...then i realise i've been looking at the wrong tut all the while...been looking at next wks tut...so i said uh oh i'm sorry i made a mistake i did the readings for next wk instead

THe Lecturer whos also my tutor is hilarious. Hes about 50plus 60 perhaps, he wears shorts and slippers to uni, is gonna retire at the end of the sem and talks wif a HUGE Scottish accent, till half the time i struggle to understand him

Basiclaly a course about the EU and its expansion
this tut is the 5 o clock one...went there half asleep...and managed to feel rather smart cos the pple there don't seem too bright


timetable for this sem is...monday long day, tue long day....thur 2 lectures....
so if i decide not to go for thur class, i'll have a 2 day wk

i had Ace King......the 5 cards out had 2 Kings...so i had trips wif an ace kicker....another guy had ace king too..wtf...split pot

i had pocket kings....flop came out king...so i had trips on the flop...kept betting....got beaten by a flush card on the river...wtf

last one the best...i had pocket kings again....flop was 2, 4, 7.....bet....turn was 4....bet.....river was ace...bet.....other guy had 4...so beat my kings wif a trip 4....WTF
