i bet u all must be missing me and wondering where i am eh? well whether thats the case just let me think it is....aniwae my net's been fucked up for the past one and a half weeks...and its sitll fucked up i'm using the library coms now.....and the fucking tech support is one big pile of shit...everytime i call i talk to a different asshole who doesn't know shit and who never calls back when they say they will....fuck lar...they shld just outsource the whole dept to India....i may not understand what those Indians are saying but at least they'll fucking do smth abo utmy problem...
aniwae my mom's and aunt are coming in 2 wks...yay? i dunno...they'll be staying wif me so its 3 pple squeezing on my bed....its the wk where my essays are due though so i guess i might have to start early....

another thing....well i've always wanted to do my honours in political science but the politics dept here has come out wif smth really fucked up...basically u need to fulfil the minimum requirements of a average distinction in poltiics units...but now they've added something new to the equation.....due to the popularity of poltiics honours.....now every applicant will be ranked according to their marks and 20 pple will be chosen every year....thats at the beginning of the academic year which is feb here....in mid year when i start honours...the intake will be 5....yes thats a grand total of five....so i dunno....i have to prepare myself for the very real possiblity that i won't get to do honours because no matter how smart i think i am......i've come to the crushing realisation that there are other pple out there very much smarter than i am...SIGH....
so anwiae that being said...i'm now exploring other possibilities...i.e. doing history honours instead....thats of cos assuming i qualify...which well i dunno...hopefully it shldn't be a problem...and anwiae hist honours doesn't seem to as popular....but history honours consists of a core historiography module which lasts the whole year and i absolutely hate historiography...for those of u who dunno what that is go lok it up if u can be bothered.....and the dissertation is 15,000 words...which is kinda alot...esp using Oxford referencing.....so yeah i have no idea...see how it goes i guess....i went for the honours info session and i got to thinking if i do hist honours....how bout this for my dissertation topic:

well where i'm coming from basically is that u've got the emergence of the whole 'Britpop' movement...the exact origins are debated but we'll say from about 93 - 97...bands like Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Suede, Supergrass etc. emerge and contribute to a new kind of consciousness in Britain esp. among the youth....and within this period u see the rise of Tony Blair to the head of the Labour Party and his fashioning of what would come about as 'New Labour' and how these two went hand in hand....they were a breath of fresh air and blah blah blah basically how it would contribute to Labour's victory in 97.
