now happiness is important, some might argue that our own happiness is most important of all, and well some would argue otherwise
i think i'm seriously vacilitating towards the former, because whats the point in making others happy if ur miserable. because of some deep seated desire to see others happy? don't make me puke
if theres something i've learned from life, its that at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, its every person for himself..and if you happen to have a few close friends who are willing to support you when you fall, well u shld thank heavens for them and never lose their friendship, because besides family, these are the friends that you can count on for life
with regards to relationships, again, whats the point of making the other person happy all the time if ur racked by insecurity and doubt. i remember a scene in Devil's Advocate where Keanu Reeves asks the Al Pacino what love is and the reply is that its overrated, nothing more than chocolate (or something like that i can't remember) aniwae the point is that hes right you know...whats the point being in a relationship where the one party isn't reciprocating fully. Either that or both of them are unhappy but 'love' each other so much that they can't bear to seperate and probably will go through life breaking up and getting together and again and again and get married and die in old age unhappy at their fucked up marriage..seriously...don't make me puke...anwiae if u ask me the sex is probably an important factor, all the make up sex and all.. but may be i'm just shallow
a real relationship is one where 2 people are truly happy, where there is give but also take, one which is not one sided (or one where a party says something idiotic like i had an affair cos i missed you too much) comeon lar give me a break man

my point is basically: be happy..be happy with who you are, and if theres something in ur life whcih ur not happy, try to change it, but if thats not possible, jettison the problem.
and with friends, i guess the thing is reciprocate friendship...be as nice as the other guy, so that if he/she doesn't give a shit, then why shld you
